Who We Are

Mission: To meet the unique needs of grieving children and their families.

Rays of Hope Children’s Grief Centre, established in 1992 as a community outreach of Hospice of Midland, provides support for children and teens aged 4 to 18 who have experienced loss due to death, divorce, separation, incarceration, deployment, or foster care. Originally rooted in the Rainbows program, Rays of Hope expanded in 2003 when a dedicated facility was donated, allowing for the growth of tailored programs to better serve the Permian Basin. Deeply supported by the local community, Rays of Hope offers a safe and neutral environment where children can navigate the grieving process alongside their peers, fostering resilience, self-esteem, and healthy adjustment.

What We Do

Rays of Hope Children’s Grief Centre provides free, peer-based support programs for grieving children and their families. Our trained volunteers facilitate group sessions where children can express feelings, share experiences, and begin healing in a compassionate and understanding environment.

Through our programs, children are supported in understanding family changes, building a sense of self-worth, and achieving healthy resolutions to life-altering events. By offering a safe space and compassionate guidance, Rays of Hope empowers children to navigate their grief and move forward with strength and hope.
