Give Mom a Hand. Give a Child a Safe Place to Play. Many of the moms in our Family Promise program are working hard to build a stable future for their families. Some work evenings and weekends, but finding affordable childcare during those hours can be a major challenge. That's where you can help.

Family Promise of the Permian Basin is seeking caring, dependable volunteers to join our Babysitters Club and provide supervised childcare for children while parents are at work, attending classes, job interviews, or working toward their goals.

We truly need help with this volunteer opportunity. dinner will be provided, I believe we will be having Rasing Canes. June 30 will count as 4 hours.

Gather training manuals and training supplies for the next class starting next week.

Saturday, June 27th- prep work and painting outside of our new building and yard work. Wear old clothes, shoes and baseball hats! Brown paint will be used that will NOT come off. This is a cinder tile brick building so painting will not be difficult. Yard work will consist of picking up trash, mowing, weed eating and general pick up around lot.

Parent Quest Night is a supportive evening created especially for parents and caregivers of children with special needs. During the event, children participate in fun activities and structured play with trained and caring volunteers—just like our Respite Nights—so parents can focus on themselves without worry.

While the children are safely engaged with our Room Leaders and Volunteers nearby, parents remain on site and come together for a parent support meeting. This time allows caregivers to connect with one another, share experiences, ask questions, and find encouragement in a welcoming and understanding environment.

Parent Quest Night offers the best of both worlds: meaningful care and engagement for children, and a dedicated space for parents to build community, find support, and feel less alone on their journey.

At Share, we believe supporting parents is just as important as supporting children.

Join us for fun, creativity, and connection as we bring joy to kids during their summer break! As a volunteer, you’ll help lead games, crafts, and interactive activities, assist with set up and clean up, and help serve food to create a safe, welcoming environment.

We are in need of volunteers for the Hoopla basketball tournament on April 18, 2026. 

Volunteer hours are from 7AM-6PM. Please contact me at 432-349-3228. We will provide lunch for all our volunteers.

Volunteers will assist with hands-on activities varying from scientific experiments to engineering challenges and more centered around the ocean. This science-packed, fun-filled camp is held Tuesday through Thursday (6/16-6/18) from 12:30 PM  to 5:30 PM. If possible, we would prefer for volunteers to sign up for all 3 days. If you happen to have any scheduling conflicts, please reach out to our education department at Education@petroleummuseum.org.

No experience is required. Please dress comfortably and appropriately. Camp will take place in our STEAM Education Center.

Banana Ball Volunteer Opportunity

Prosperity Employment Outreach is seeking volunteers to assist during Banana Ball events hosted by the Midland RockHounds.

Volunteer Shift:

July 2, 3 and/or 4.
3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Each completed shift earns 9 volunteer service hours.

Important:
There is a specific sign-in and check-in process required by the venue in order to receive volunteer credit. All volunteers must text 432-889-9107 before the event for instructions and confirmation.

Because staffing numbers must be submitted in advance, we need a firm volunteer commitment prior to June 16. Once you commit to volunteering, we ask that you honor that commitment and avoid cancellations or no-shows whenever possible. The Summer Mummers Fundraiser will be accepting volunteers beginning Friday, June 5.

Volunteers assist with operations - all training provided - during performances on Friday and Saturday evenings from 6:30pm to 10:30pm.

Midland Community Theatre's annual fundraiser at the Yucca Theatre. A Melodrama, Moviola, and Olio entertain patrons and volunteers assist with selling popcorn, raffle tickets, tokens, merchandise, and work behind the scenes. Community Service hours must also be logged in each evening you volunteer. Dress is casual and tennis shoes are preferred, please no flop-flops or sandals.

Volunteers under 18 must stay in the popcorn popping room and must have a parent/guardian on campus at all times.

Volunteers above 18 may be randomly placed in any of the following positions:

- Merchandise Sales

Summer Literacy Camp is really so much fun! It's a camp for 2nd-7th graders where they play fun games, learn a little bit and have cool experiences! 

The camp is M-TH, June 1 - July 23 from 11:15am- 5:00pm. We will work with your availability as needed. We can't wait to meet you!

Shifts are 4 hours once per week. Weekday shifts: 8:30-12:30 and 12:30-4:30.

Job Descriptions:

Information Desk: greet visitors and take them to destinations and lookup patient room numbers.

Gift Shop: staff the gift shop and sell items. Proceeds are returned to the hospital in the form of equipment.

Popcorn Station: run the popcorn machine and sell to guests.

Volunteers also gain hands-on experience in organization, inventory processes, and teamwork while directly contributing to a program that provides dignity, resources, and opportunity.

Teen Camp is for children aged 7th-12th grade. Teens explore the world of feelings, and utilize coping tools through the creative and expressive arts. They love to spend time in the music, art, and drama room.

Teen Camp will be held June 29th - July 2nd from 1-5 PM. Volunteers are asked to be here from 12:45 PM-5:30 PM.

We serve children 4 years to 18 years who have experienced a loss due to death, divorce, separation, incarceration, deployment, foster care, or other painful transition. Through facilitated peer support groups, children share experiences, use creative arts as tools of expression, and acquire coping skills to work through the tough issues that accompany grief. Because we are an outreach of Hospice of Midland, services are provided at no charge to participants.

Tools of Expression, also known as TOE, is a peer support group for children ages 4-18 who have experienced a loss or change such as death, divorce, separation, incarceration, deployment, and foster care. Through the use of the creative arts, TOE classes focus on peer support and the expression of feelings. TOE classes rotate monthly. One month may focus on music, while another focuses on drama, photography, journaling, or other creative expressive tools.

TOE classes are held on Monday nights at 6PM from April-August.

Volunteers are needed from 6-7PM. All volunteers must attend volunteer training and submit to background checks. Volunteer Training will be held from 10 AM - 1 PM on the following dates:

Journey Camp is for children and teens who have previously attended HopeWorks. Each day of camp includes new activities, arts and crafts, group recreation, music, discussion time, and snacks. Come journey with us and explore the jungle of anger, the forest of fears, the ocean of emotion, challenge mountain, and the city of change!

Journey Camp will be held July 13th-17th. Volunteers are asked to be here from 8:30 AM-1:30PM with breakfast and lunch provided.

Students must volunteer in person on the day of service to be eligible for project hours.

Neighbors Eden Project workdays take place on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, through March. These are extra hours you can earn once you complete the work on that Saturday.

Schedule adjusts after daylight saving time begins.

Serve with purpose while building leadership and communication skills.

This Youth in Action volunteer opportunity allows students to earn up to 3 verified volunteer hours through a structured service project that follows same-day, in-person volunteer work with Neighbors Eden Project serving elderly and disabled neighbors.

Project hours are only available to students who participate in the actual workday.

To participate in the project activities below, students must:
• Volunteer in person on the scheduled service day
• Sign in and complete the full workday
• Follow all safety and participation guidelines

Students who do not volunteer on the workday are not eligible to earn project hours.

• Complete the specified Project: Community Impact Reflection to earn 30 minutes of time.

• Complete the journal for 30 additional minutes
• Submit the required project form through the provided QR link

Neighbors Eden Project invites Midland students to become part of Youth in Action, our student-led service initiative focused on helping elderly and disabled homeowners who can no longer maintain their yards on their own.

March 19, 2026 – October 29, 2026
Thursday Nights | 5:45 PM – 8:00 PM

Dinner 8:00-9:00 PM

Every Thursday, students work side-by-side with volunteers, families, and community leaders to restore yards, improve safety, and bring dignity back to homes across Midland.

This is not a sit-back-and-watch kind of volunteer opportunity.

Students actively help:

• Clear debris and overgrowth
• Pull weeds and clean flower beds
• Trim bushes and small trees
• Improve safety and curb appeal
• Serve homeowners who physically cannot do the work themselves

At the end of every project, you can physically see the difference your work made.

Youth in Action is more than community service hours. It is a leadership and character development program designed to help students grow through real responsibility, teamwork, and service.

Students are encouraged to step into leadership roles throughout the season by helping:

• Welcome and guide new volunteers
• Organize tools and work areas
• Encourage younger volunteers
• Lead by example during projects
• Represent compassion, work ethic, and responsibility in the community

Students who take on additional leadership responsibilities may earn extra volunteer hours while building practical skills that stand out on college applications, scholarships, resumes, and future job interviews.

Join Nigerians in West Texas (NIWT) as a volunteer for our Annual Nigeria Cultural Day 2026! This public event brings together the community to celebrate Nigerian culture through food, fashion, music, dance, comedy, and games.

Volunteers will assist with event setup, guest coordination, cultural activities, vendor support, and general event operations. This is a great opportunity to serve the community, gain experience, and be part of a vibrant cultural celebration.

Hello amazing volunteers!

We’re gearing up for our Valentine’s Dance and would love a few helping hands to make the night extra special! We need support with serving pizza and drinks, handing out door prizes, doing some light chaperoning while students dance, and helping with clean‑up and take‑down afterward. The event runs from 6–8 PM, and if you could please arrive by 5:30 PM, we’ll go over a few quick housekeeping notes and assign everyone to their stations.

We can have between 30 - 90 special needs Friends depending on the night, so we can always use the help, with passing out food, helping them complete the crafts and just getting through the evening.

Sibley Nature Center is in need of volunteers to support the maintenance and upgrade of the Sibley Nature Trail System. Located on 49.1 acres of land in Midland, Sibley manages a public trail system that is available to the community 7 days a week, sunrise to sunset. Volunteers are needed to assist with trash pickup, weeding, mowing and general campus maintenance. Interested volunteers are invited to work with the Sibley Campus Maintenance Technician, Monday - Thursday 9a.m. to 4 p.m. Volunteers who would like to support during other hours are welcome. All volunteers must call ahead and speak with staff before signing up to volunteer at Sibley.

Jury duties are held on scheduled Monday evenings. Arrive between 4:30 and 5:00pm and have someone pick you up by 6:15pm. Listed below are the dates for 2025. You will receive 2 hours of community service for each jury duty you attend.

Jubilee Center needs people to help stock our pantry on the Fridays before our distributions that take place on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month. This includes loading freezers and organizing food in preparation for our pantry.  We also have a senior distribution that immediately follows stocking from 11:30am-12:30pm that volunteers are asked to stay and help with. 

Hello CHAP Students,

 Below is a worthy service opportunity for CHAP students and organizations to volunteer and help children in foster care!  WHIT is a non-profit that provides free tutoring to foster children.   

WHIT is needing 25 tutors ASAP to support 25 foster students with tutoring for 1 hour/week, until the end of school, with the option of tutoring through the summer as well!  We know many students go home when the semester ends, but tutoring can also be done virtually.  One hour a week can make a world of difference to these young kids who deserve to have an ally in their education. CHAP students can be that ally!

Face-to-face tutoring sessions can only take place at the public or University library in the town where the child is placed. Virtual sessions take place via the Zoom or Teams platform in a very engaging one child/one tutor setting.

STEPS TO BECOMING A WHIT TUTOR FOR CHILDREN IN FOSTER CARE:

1. Filling out the WHIT tutor application is the first step to becoming a volunteer tutor.

Potential WHIT tutors click on the link and then fill out the application and hit the submit button. The application then comes to us, and we email the potential tutor with the next steps to becoming a WHIT tutor. Next steps include: 

 2. Fill out our fillable background and confidentiality forms. (I have the forms included as attachments on an email I send to you once you complete step 1).  

3. Complete the self-paced online training while your background check is being processed and cleared (I provide you with the training link once you complete step 2).

 4. You are matched with a child in foster care waiting for a tutor! Once we get word that your background check is cleared and you have completed the online training, I will email you congratulating you on officially becoming a WHIT tutor and I will work on matching you with a child in foster care waiting for a tutor!

COMPASSIONATE CHILDCARE ASSISTANTS support our staff with the Junior Life Skills sessions on Monday evenings.  An age-driven curriculum is used to help our youngest clients to learn to succeed in school & life!  A kind heart and a dedicated spirit is required - training is provided.
