The Family Hope Center provides families with support, encouragement, and resources as they work toward stability and growth. Through classes, coaching, and community gatherings, families are equipped with tools to build a stronger future

This volunteer opportunity supports parents while they attend required trainings and educational classes. These gatherings are an important part of equipping caregivers with the tools and encouragement they need to care well for children in their homes.

Volunteers will provide childcare during these sessions by engaging children in games, activities, and supervised play in a safe and welcoming environment. By caring for children during this time, volunteers help parents focus fully on learning, connection, and support

Because this role involves working directly with children, volunteers will be contacted to complete a background check and any other required steps before being eligible to serve in childcare roles. Our Volunteer Coordinator, Azurie Rodriguez, will work with you through this process and answer any questions along the way.

While parents enjoy a well-deserved night out, kids will gather for a fun and energetic Super Bowl–themed party just for them! This event is designed to give children a safe, engaging space to play, enjoy activities, and spend time with peers.

Volunteers will help make the night run smoothly by assisting with set-up and break-down, supporting children throughout the event, and helping meet their needs as they enjoy the activities

The class is open to students in 3rd through 8th grade.

Neighbors Eden Project workdays take place on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, through March. These are extra hours you can earn once you complete the work on that Saturday.

This Youth in Action volunteer opportunity allows students to earn up to 3 verified volunteer hours through a structured service project that follows same-day, in-person volunteer work with Neighbors Eden Project serving elderly and disabled neighbors.

Project hours are only available to students who participate in the actual workday.

To participate in the project activities below, students must:
• Volunteer in person on the scheduled service day
• Sign in and complete the full workday
• Follow all safety and participation guidelines

Students who do not volunteer on the workday are not eligible to earn project hours.

• Submission must reflect the same service day attended

We need you!  Senior Life Midland is in need of volunteers to help with Meals on Wheels!  It only takes an hour to make a difference. Do you have time?

Volunteers needed to deliverer a warm meal & smile to Midland Meals on Wheels homebound clients.  Each driver will be given specific area of town to serve meals.  Volunteer will deliver in their personal vehicles.  Most routes take about an hour or less and you can choose days that fit within your schedule.

Senior Life Midland Meals on Wheels can help! Volunteer can get up to 3 hours a day Monday through Friday. Kitchen volunteers will stand in an assembly line packaging 500 hot & cold meal for our homebound seniors. All volunteers will get a 10–15-minute break in between. Plesee wear tennis shoes & avoid wearing any sweaters or jackets. Community Engagement Volunteer

We are currently recruiting Allocation Panel Volunteers to review funding proposals. Panel Volunteers Members usually volunteer 15 – 25 hours during Year One, with fewer hours required for the Year Two and Year Three reviews. Most work is done between March and May, between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Opportunity for YWLA student volunteers

This opportunity allows students to clean up trash or lost balls on the course/in the rough. The ideal time for this opportunity is when the weather is cold and the snakes are asleep.

Sibley Nature Center is in need of volunteers to support the maintenance and upgrade of the Sibley Nature Trail System. Located on 49.1 acres of land in Midland, Sibley manages a public trail system that is available to the community 7 days a week, sunrise to sunset. Volunteers are needed to assist with trash pickup, weeding, mowing and general campus maintenance. Interested volunteers are invited to work with the Sibley Campus Maintenance Technician, Monday - Thursday 9a.m. to 4 p.m. Volunteers who would like to support during other hours are welcome. All volunteers must call ahead and speak with staff before signing up to volunteer at Sibley.

Jubilee Center needs people to help stock our pantry on the Fridays before our distributions that take place on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month. This includes loading freezers and organizing food in preparation for our pantry.  We also have a senior distribution that immediately follows stocking from 11:30am-12:30pm that volunteers are asked to stay and help with. 

Hello CHAP Students,

 Below is a worthy service opportunity for CHAP students and organizations to volunteer and help children in foster care!  WHIT is a non-profit that provides free tutoring to foster children.   

WHIT is needing 25 tutors ASAP to support 25 foster students with tutoring for 1 hour/week, until the end of school, with the option of tutoring through the summer as well!  We know many students go home when the semester ends, but tutoring can also be done virtually.  One hour a week can make a world of difference to these young kids who deserve to have an ally in their education. CHAP students can be that ally!

WHAT DO TUTORING SESSIONS LOOK LIKE:

 Tutoring sessions occur weekly for one hour and can take place in person or virtually, depending on where the child is placed.

Face-to-face tutoring sessions can only take place at the public or University library in the town where the child is placed. Virtual sessions take place via the Zoom or Teams platform in a very engaging one child/one tutor setting.

STEPS TO BECOMING A WHIT TUTOR FOR CHILDREN IN FOSTER CARE:

1. Filling out the WHIT tutor application is the first step to becoming a volunteer tutor.

3. Complete the self-paced online training while your background check is being processed and cleared (I provide you with the training link once you complete step 2).

Once we get word that your background check is cleared and you have completed the online training, I will email you congratulating you on officially becoming a WHIT tutor and I will work on matching you with a child in foster care waiting for a tutor!

The United Way of Midland occasionally has special projects we need assistance with throughout the year.  The following projects may be required:

Volunteers needed to help distribute food during our distributions on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month. Volunteers help clients select food inside our building, help with restocking, or may be asked to assist clients to their vehicles once they are done shopping. 

Big Brothers Big Sisters is in serious need of mentors for the children on its waiting list. If you can spare an hour or so a week, and can say things like,  "I'm proud of you" and "You can do it", you're qualified to serve as a Big Brother or Big Sister.

The Bush Family Home relies on volunteers to provide tours of the historic home and staff our gift shop.

Students seeking to get community hours for Legacy Scholarship programs or other programs can help us by serving as gift shop clerks, helping with routine cleaning and other general office help. Hours are based on your schedule. Saturday hours available!

Unlimited Dance Company is a program offered by Midland Children’s Rehabilitation Center, a nonprofit outpatient pediatric rehabilitation facility.  Our dance program offers dance classes at no cost to the families for children with special needs ages 4 -21.  We are looking for volunteers who are interested in working with these children to help them learn dances to perform in their dance recital.  The dancers perform in two recitals per year, one at Christmas and one in the spring.  To be a dance volunteer, the only requirement is a willingness to work closely with children with special needs.  NO DANCE EXPERIENCE NEEDED! Volunteering for this program is also a great way to earn volunteer/observation hours when applying to graduate programs, particularly if you are interested in working in the medical/rehabilitation field. 

Tuesday evenings 5:30-6:30 PM, including a Christmas recital and a spring recital (5:45-7:30) 

***We need volunteers who can be available weekly so that our dancers have consistent instructors/helpers.

***We are also in need of volunteers who would be willing to eventually teach one of our dance classes.  To be a dance teacher, dance experience is not required, but the volunteer would need to be able to create a basic dance for the dancers to learn and perform at their dance recital. Dance director is available to help with this process as needed.

Load food into guest cars and assist guests with the fruit and vegetable pod line. Assist with food box assembly, pulling food from the pod, breaking down boxes, re-stocking food, setting up and breaking down tables, cleaning up, check-in and registering new clients, and other duties as assigned.

This will be a position where you are able to volunteer in our Elementary school in various ways as needed.

General office work for volunteers would consist of answering phones, helping to set up for classes, printing, copying, re-stocking curriculum for classes, etc.

Office hours are 10AM-5PM.

Give it Forward Closet, community outreach! Cleaning and help maintaining our day center for the community. Help with other events we participated in with community partners. Bush center may need volunteers as well and can attain through Thriving United . 

Meets once every month, 2 - 3 hours, possibility of other hours as well. Members of the Board will use this to sign in and out to log hours.

The minimum age to participate is ten years old. Minors under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult age 21+ to serve. Everyone who comes to volunteer must be registered and signed up for the shift they will attend!

Volunteers help us serve the thousands of people facing hunger each week in West Texas! As a warehouse volunteer, you’ll help us inspect, clean, sort, box, and prepare donated food and non-food items to distribute to our pantries, Partner Agencies, and the folks they serve.  The minimum age to participate is ten years old. Minors under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult age 21+ to serve. If you bring multiple minors, you must bring one adult for every five volunteers under 16. We ask all volunteers to arrive 5-10 minutes before the listed start time.  Please plan to give yourself ample opportunity to locate the building, get checked in, and be ready to start on time. Please dress appropriately and comfortably; no spaghetti strap shirts, short shorts, leggings, or revealing clothes.  Also, (CLOSED TOE SHOES ONLY) No flip-flops, sandals, or heels are allowed in the warehouse for safety purposes. Some volunteers will be asked to work in a cold or hot area that is not air-conditioned for the duration of the shift.  If you need accommodations during your volunteer shift, please get in touch with us as soon as you sign up for your shift so that we can discuss options.
