Yucca Learning

Who We Are

Yucca Learning is a nonprofit educational organization in Midland, Texas, providing thoughtful, holistic education for children from early childhood through high school.

Rooted in Montessori philosophy and learner-driven education, Yucca Learning creates environments that support the intellectual, emotional, social, and physical development of the whole person. Through meaningful work, compassionate guidance, experiential learning, and increasing freedom and responsibility, we help young people develop independence, curiosity, strong character, and a lifelong love of learning.

Our vision is a more peaceful world in which individuals approach one another with joy, respect, and personal responsibility—and possess the skills and inner discipline needed to collaborate, solve problems, and contribute meaningfully to their communities. We support this vision by serving not only our learners, but also their families, our staff, and the wider Permian Basin community through education, connection, and service.

What We Do

Yucca Learning provides full-time educational programming for learners ranging in age from 18 months through high school. Our programs span Montessori early childhood education and learner-driven elementary, middle, and high school experiences. Across every age level, learners participate in collaborative, hands-on education designed around their developmental needs.

As our organization grows, we are working to expand opportunities for older learners, strengthen our outdoor and campus environments, and develop after-school and summer programming that better supports working families. Volunteers play an important role in helping us care for our learning environments, improve our campuses, support special projects, and extend our impact throughout the community.
