Midland Habitat for Humanity

Mission: To build homes for low-income families trapped in substandard housing.

Midland Habitat for Humanity is a Christian-based non-profit that helps God’s people in need to build better homes and lives. Midland Habitat was affiliated in 1991 and since that time has built more than 198 houses, providing safe, decent housing for nearly 900 people, most of whom are children.

Midland Habitat for Humanity builds affordable houses for low-income families trapped in substandard housing. Habitat acts as the mortgage lender, selling the homes with an affordable mortgage. Each homeowner must work 250 “sweat equity” hours helping build someone else’s house and eventually their own. The Midland Habitat ReSTORE is where new and used building supplies, furniture and decorative items are sold to the general public. The proceeds from this store contribute to the Habitat affordable housing ministry while providing an avenue for the community to recycle usable items.
