Who We Are

The Alzheimer’s Association West Texas Chapter is part of the National Alzheimer’s Association.  We are dedicated to supporting individuals affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia in the West Texas region.

Our Mission: To lead the way to end Alzheimer’s and all other dementias – by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.

Our Vision: A world without Alzheimer’s and all other dementia.

What We Do

The chapter offers various services to individuals, caregivers, and families, including but not limited to:

  • Our free 24/7 Helpline (800.272.3900), staffed by master’s-level clinicians and specialists, provides confidential support and information to all those affected in over 200 languages.
  • Family Care Consultations: The central focus of consultations is to assess client needs, provide guidance and assistance with planning and problem-solving, develop a plan of action, and facilitate access to other chapter services.
  • We conduct online and face-to-face support groups and education and awareness programs in our communities. ALZConnected®, a free online community, offers those affected by dementia another place to share support and information.
  • We offer a suite of interactive online tools to help people living with dementia and their caregivers navigate the journey after diagnosis and locate a wide variety of resources in their area.

Additionally, the chapter organizes community events like the Walk to End Alzheimer’s and Do What You Love to #ENDALZ, which bring together families, caregivers, and supporters to raise funds for research and local services. The Alzheimer’s Association West Texas Chapter is committed to improving the quality of life for those affected and advancing the fight against Alzheimer’s in our communities.
