Do you love science and working with children? Do you enjoy seeing the "ah ha" moment in a child's eyes when they experience, first hand, what they have been learning in the classroom? If so, you are perfect for our education docent volunteer roles!
Education docents are a vital part of our education program! They interact directly with the students - teaching them about the various components of the wildlife preserve's ecosystem. Docents work with students from kindergarten through high school. They spend time at the preserve during school trips and can have a variety of roles during this time based on their preferences, strengths and our needs.
Docents must submit a background check through MISD and fill out a volunteer application. We have opportunities to give docents a number of volunteer hours per month or a few per year - we will work with you!
